What is IX

What is Peering

Peering is the process by which two or more network systems (Autonomous Systems – AS) establish a direct connection to exchange Internet traffic with each other. The goal of peering is to optimize data routing, enhance network performance, reduce latency, lower costs, and improve traffic control.

Advantages of Peering

Reduce Latency

Data follows shorter and more direct routing paths

Cost Saving

No international transit costs are incurred

Enhance Network Performance

Full control over inbound and outbound traffic

Improve Security and Stability

Eliminate reliance on third-party transit routes

Why connect to BBIX Vietnam BBIX Ph

Instead of transmitting data through costly intermediary IP transit providers, peering with an Internet Exchange (IX) enables members to exchange traffic directly — for example, between a telecom operator and an OTT platform, or between an ISP and a CDN
